What a premium mobile IV visit includes: the doctor, the nurse and the kit

Updated Medically reviewed by: [Responsible doctor — name to be added]6 min read

Short answer

A premium mobile IV visit in Istanbul includes a doctor's review of your health questionnaire before anything is booked, a licensed nurse who places the drip and stays throughout, sealed single-use ingredients opened in front of you, monitoring equipment and an emergency kit. The visit anywhere in the city is in the price; add-ons and night visits cost extra.

A price on a menu tells you very little about a mobile IV service. Two drips with the same name can come with very different care around them. This guide lists, piece by piece, what a Bosphorus Drip visit includes, why each piece is there, and what a drip cannot do. It is a checklist rather than a story; if you would like the visit told minute by minute, we have written that separately.

What does the doctor check before a mobile IV visit?

The doctor reads your health questionnaire and decides whether the drip is safe for you before any nurse sets out. Before that, you answer a short health questionnaire on WhatsApp. It asks about the medicines you take, allergies, heart and kidney health, pregnancy or breastfeeding, recent surgery and how you feel today. A doctor reads every answer. This is the part of the service you do not see, and the most important one.

The doctor can approve the drip you asked for, change the formula or the rate, or decline. People with heart failure, kidney disease, a known allergy to an ingredient, pregnancy without their own doctor's approval, or anyone under 18 will be declined; so will anyone who is severely intoxicated or cannot give clear consent. If the doctor says no, there is no charge, and we explain why. The full list is on how it works.

What does the nurse do during the visit?

The nurse checks you, places the drip and stays with you until it ends. The drip is placed by a licensed nurse with hands-on IV experience. The same nurse stays for the whole infusion: there is no "set it and leave". Before anything is opened, they measure blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and temperature and go over your answers once more in person. If something has changed, the doctor is called before the drip starts.

During the infusion the nurse watches the flow and how you feel, checks your vital signs again and stops the drip if anything is not right. The doctor stays reachable by phone for the whole visit.

Where do the drip ingredients come from?

Fluids, vitamins and minerals come from licensed pharmaceutical suppliers, in sealed single-use packaging that is opened in front of you. Only what the doctor approved goes into the drip, at the dose the doctor approved. Nothing is mixed in advance in a car or a back office.

Some ingredients are better studied than others. Fluids and electrolytes for dehydration are standard medical practice; for glutathione, high-dose vitamin C or NAD+ the evidence for wellness use is limited, and we say so. You can see every drip and its ingredients on the menu and prices page.

What equipment does the nurse bring?

The nurse brings a compact case with single-use supplies, monitoring devices and an emergency kit. It is the same on every visit, day or night:

  • Single-use cannula, infusion line and dressings, opened in front of you.
  • A portable stand, so you can sit in an armchair, lie on the bed or stay on deck.
  • Blood pressure monitor, pulse oximeter and thermometer.
  • An emergency kit, on every visit without exception, and a nurse trained to use it.
  • A sealed sharps container: needles and used materials leave with the nurse for medical disposal, nothing goes into your bin.

What does the price include, and what costs extra?

The price includes the visit, the doctor's review and the nurse's time; only add-ons and night visits cost extra. Prices are per person, in euros, and include the visit anywhere in Istanbul, the doctor's review and the nurse's time for the whole drip: Myers' Classic is €290, Jet Lag Reset €290, the signature Hammam Hydration €390. There is no separate travel fee, whether you are in Nişantaşı or on a yacht off Bebek.

Two things cost extra. Add-ons such as a B12 shot, vitamin D3 or an anti-nausea dose cost €30 to €60 each, and only if the doctor approves them. Visits between 00:00 and 07:00 carry a night supplement of €60. Payment is on the day, by card or cash. Groups and private events are priced on request.

What can an IV drip not do?

A drip is not a treatment for illness, and it does not replace your own doctor or a hospital. It does not "detox" your liver, and it is not a cure for anything. Most people who are mildly dehydrated feel just as well with water, food and sleep; a drip is a convenience some guests choose, not a necessity.

A visit does not include laboratory tests or a diagnosis. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, a high fever, fainting, confusion or severe pain, do not book a drip: go to a hospital or call 112.

Five questions to ask any mobile IV service

Whoever you book with, in Istanbul or elsewhere, these questions sort careful services from careless ones. We are happy to answer each of them before you book. Our longer guide to IV safety in Turkey goes deeper.

  • Does a doctor review my health answers before the visit, and can the doctor say no?
  • Is the person placing the cannula a licensed nurse, and will they stay for the whole infusion?
  • Are the ingredients sealed, from licensed suppliers, and opened in front of me?
  • Is there an emergency kit on every visit?
  • Who takes away the needles and used materials?

Questions

Is a doctor present at the visit?

The doctor reviews your answers before the visit and stays reachable by phone throughout. The drip itself is given by a licensed nurse who stays with you from start to finish. See how it works.

What happens if the doctor declines my drip?

We explain the reason, suggest an alternative if there is a suitable one, and you pay nothing.

Are blood tests included?

No. A visit includes the doctor's review of your questionnaire and the nurse's vital-sign checks, not laboratory tests or a diagnosis.

How do I book?

Send a message on WhatsApp with where you are staying and how many people would like a drip. The questionnaire follows in the same chat.
